Camellia Sasanqua for sale in New Zealand
Camellia sasanqua (sa-sang-kwa) originated in Southern Japan and is one of the most versatile landscaping plants available to gardeners. Hardy and tolerant Camellia sasanqua can be used for hedging, screens, espalier or container planting. With careful selection Camellia sasanqua varieties will put on a floral display from February until August. Many varieties have a lovely delicate fragrance. At Wairere we just love Camellias and therefore have a fantastic range to choose from. Some of the top performers are Apple Blossom, Chasonette, Early Pearly, Gay Sue, Jean May, Plantation Pink and the always in demand Setsugekka. In the late 1990's the Paradise series was introduced to New Zealand from Australia and their superior breeding has resulted in Camellias that have improved sun tolerance and hardiness. Camellia Pure Silk Sasanqua. A lovely little Camellia with, scented, semi-double blooms. The buds are quite pink but magically open to silky white blooms with just a hint of pink on the edges. 'Pure Silk' has a strong upright growth habit and whilst it is happy in semi-shade this Camellia can cope with sun. Evergreen.
